A whole new respect for my Fisher Coin$trike

I'm new to the Fisher metal detectors. I bought a used Coin$trike, used it just a couple of times and let it sit. I was so used to my other detectors that I really didn't give it a fair try. I was even thinking of selling it. But I took it out this weekend and did everything the right way after reading all the good information on these boards.

I took it to one place where my friend and my Explorer was over in this one park. In this little 30 foot by about 70 foot area I pulled some nice old coins. But they stopped coming. Almost all of them were at the fringe of detection with my Ex. Went there by myself with the C$ and did good once again. What is surprising is that my finds were so deep!

Proper ground balancing is so important with this machine. I don't know why anyone complains about electrical interference. I've taken it to a place where my other machines had plenty of that but setting up the C$ properly she ran nice and quiet and DEEP right under an electric line that I had to run my sensitivity way down on my Explorer. I tried my friend's 5" coil in this one area on my Explorer and I had to get about 100 feet from the electric lines.

Now that it is getting to be Winter I'm trying to take my C$ out as much as I can before the snow makes it impossible. Is my C$ for sale? Not yet :)

Tony, I'm with you on your C$. I truely believe that this is a great land detector. I had mine out yesterday in a super trashy spot and it shined. I now have three detectors and if it came down to owning just one, it would be the C$. The spot I was at yesterday has a coal power plant next door and I have had two detectors act wacky here, so full of static, I had to leave the place. I have yet to take the T2 to this spot, but it should be a good test to the interference issue. We are in the same boat;winter is almost here and detecting will shut down soon. Good luck. R.L.
