A Wheat day

Got out today with my X-70. Went to my old highschool again. Did pretty good, no silver but managed seven wheats. The oldest is a 1910, my oldest to date. Also found a '72 half in a hole with three quarters. This place has been alot of fun, found a '35 merc last Saturday and six wheats on Sunday along with about ten dollars in change. Got $6.01 today total. Mostly older coins. I know there's gotta be some more silver hiding somewhere.

Nice haul . Where there is wheaties there is PROBABLY more silver . Don't give up on more silver.

I'd like to go back tommorrow but my knees are killing me. Maybe after church and some chores i'll give it another go.

Went back last night for 2.5hrs. and managed a '44 quarter a '43 merc and 5 more wheats along with about $2.50 in clad mostly older quarters. Still have alot of ground to cover. The silver is there, just deeper. The '44 quarter was at least 8" down. I'm really getting good with my x-terra 70. Happy hunting everyone.

Wow, good job on the silver quarter and dime. And, 8" down for the quarter, you're sure doing well with your depth. Congratulations on great finds.

Awesome! You hit the nail on the head by assuming there was silver out there. I take the same attitude with me when I find a ring, I have found often as not, where there is one ring, there are more.....I've been beating up a place on a nearby military base, in a very small grassy area that has been productive for some wheats and finally gave up two silver Rosie's and a 54 Franklin half. It has been around since early 1900's, and well picked over the years by countless detectors...but they haven't found "everything". The soil here is so gravelly that they don't really sink that deep, maybe a few inches, up to 4 or 6, but mostly within range of the Garrett Pro-pointer from the grass.....congratulations and good luck to you.

Thanks guys, just finished working an area roughly the size of a football field. Was going across the field, gonna change up and go down the length. I think i read that on this forum somewhere that you should go at it from both directions. I know I left some iffy targets behind. I called an old friend last night to see if he wanted to go and I think he's in, cant wait. Alot of the other ground hasn't been cut so gonna keep at this spot for awhile.

Try all the angles of a triangle LOL to. Every direction will get you some good stuff. Go slow and dig, dig, dig
