A weekday hunt in the land of the rising rings

Had a few free hours this afternoon, so off to the beach we went.
Both using the Ace 150's again.
Air temperature is now up to 18C and climbing fast, so very nice. Water temperature is still way down but a few groups of high school age students jumped in the sea, screamed a lot and quickly got back out again. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
Got seven silver rings today (one with two narrow gold bands). The pendant with the two hanging feathers? is silver too.
2,147 yen in coins.
Elder son - One silver ring - bottom left of the pic with two hearts.
280 yen in coins.
And various bits and pieces below the bottom row of coins.
Both of us had a great time as usual. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

We're not worthy!! <img src="/metal/html/please.gif" border=0 width=29 height=15 alt=":please">

Never mind, the fact that they were gold and silver. I'm assuming that there aren't very many people detecting where you live. If this is correct, how come?

Nice batch of booty Ian. The Beach Fairy was good to you. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
Bill

at the beach since last year. Japanese men. One I still keep in contact with (and he even invited me to his BIG Christmas party last year, which was a great bonus), but he tends to be very busy with work so I don't expect to see him at the beach more than a couple of times a years.
So, where are all the others? Not around here (near Osaka, the second largest city in Japan) I suspect. Why not?....mmmm......probably three reasons:
1 - marketing
2 - marketing
3 - and marketing <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
Have only seen one good metal detector shop (selling a different brand) on the Japanese side of the Internet. Chances are they won't sell in any volume soon though, due to their very high pricing - when compared to US pricing anyway.
Think Okinawa would have more people detecting, partly because of the US military base there, also the Japanese watching them detect and getting into it too.
Anway, it is great to have a productive beach basically to ourselves. The Ace 150's work very well there. Would LOVE to try e.g. a 2500.....but can't really justify it (the $) while the 150's still produce the goods. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

GREAT FINDS Ian THE AMOUNT OF RINGS YOU FIND IS UNREAL

John & Ian
How ya both doing? I detect in Okinawa with about 10 other guy's on a regualr basis. John detecting hasn't caught on much with the locals here. Ian is right these beach's seem almost untouched at times and get seeded Daily during the summer. You could hunt during the day and pick up 10 rings and during the night you can pick up another at times. Japan or especially Okinawa Japan is a great place to hunt. There's beach's out the Wazzzzzzzzzzzoooo here public, resort etc... My record for a single night was 16 rings and 8,000 yen U.S. little less than $80.00 in change. Most of the rings were silver but 2 were gold on that hunt... Well the best to you both
and Happy Hunting.
