A Walk in the Park & a Couple Little Treats

Spent some more time in the litlle park today, was doing OK on clad in the skateboard area until the young delinquents showed up. Decided to work the volleyball court / city dump area :ranting:, hoping for something that glitters. The finds speak for themselves, though I spared you about a bucket of recycling (each trip....). The best way I can look at it is that I am removing a LARGE number of buried cans and other metal junk in hopes that I will unmask some goodies. And I am finding a few more coins when I re-check previously hunted areas.

My favorite find of the day was a complete surprise - it was headed for the recycling bin when I noticed that there was some writing on it. Polished it up a little... lo and behold, it's a token! Totally scrunched and legible under loupe only, but a token none the less. It says "Good for 5 cents in trade" on one side, and "Watling Mfg. Co., Chicago" on the other. I thought that was pretty cool, as it's the city of my birth (though I haven't lived there in 28 years). Likely, of no value to anyone but me, which is fine (I tested it - not silver, likely Nickel).
Thanks for looking & luck in the hunt!!

I really like finding old tokens. Some are quite valuable too. You did good in the coin department too.

We got 6 inches of snow today.......

Thanks John,
Yep, I enjoy the tokens & buttons & oddball finds as much as the $$, though I did send a little bundle off to MidwestRefineries yesterday, hopefully they'll do right by me. The most frustrating thing yesterday was that there were a number of good sounding targets just under the weed cloth in the skateboard area, grrrr. It's hard to be ethical when there might be a nice early silver just an inch or two away :nono:

Great clad count, and some interesting stuff too??? What is that box with the plastic looking smoke in it???

HH,

GoGo, I think you're baiting me
It is a one-hitter - stash goes in one side, you stuff the glass cig in to load it et voil

I was never much into that stuff, so I am stupid in that department...See why I was never into that stuff...lol

HH,
