Yesterday I hunted a very trashy spot in front of a row of old cabins. First I took my C$ with the stock coil and made two passes(about 150 foot long) and with a slow sweep and very deliberate overlaps, I found 13 coins(2 wheats and 1 mercury dime) . I went back to the truck and put on my new Sunray cs5 coil and I followed my exact same steps. I do realize that coins can and will be missed in a line 150 feet long, but what I found stunned me. I have always used small coils, but I have never done this so it proved that small is better. My second passes with the small coil got me 23 coins(2 more wheats and one more silver roosie) I believe the C$ is one of the better trashy site detectors made, but I surely didn't think I could have missed that many coins! What absolutely amazed me was the fact that probably half of these coins were less than 3 inches deep. For all you C$ users, I had the iron disc a 99 and foil and tabs notched. There is a tremendous amount of trash in this spot. I did dig some trash my first pass so I guess that could have opened up the coins for my second pass, but 23 more coins made me more of a believer than I already am. R.L.
