General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Hey All:

be very very cautious when dealing with mdnut (DAVE) or William C
swingingfromtexas or what ever name he comesup with next....see the
list on treasuredepot, and I feel lucky he did not swindle me as well.
He proposed a trade. Said we would ship same time and guess what. He did not ship.....made up some lame excuse about detector was locked in his brothers house etc etc etc etc....he did send mine back, but it took a while, and some veiled threats with postal authorities....
He has tried to sell the same detector on two different sites with two
different stories from dear old departed Dads detector too it was his Uncles ...Even stated he had several new ones Dad bought and put away never used and they were for sale. Told me his William c name was in memory of his Dad....on and on and on...Got mine back, I just hope it's ok and not broken or something. Have not had a chance at testing it yet..Hate trashing someone but when they lie, they lie...

I FEEL VERY LUCKY I DID NOT HAVE TO PROSECUTE HIM...and I would have..
he is smooth, real smooth, even gives you a good phone number....
but he is not a good trader. PLEASE BE ALERT !!!!!!!
 
This can save someone some big bucks and a lot of headaches.

I had replied to a message he posted about a Bigfoot coil and he offered it to me as an "alternate" buyer saying the first one did not follow through.

He did not want to take anything other than money order at first, and that was a deal killer before I found out this info anyway (I could not find any of his posts in his history or the original ad either - no way I'm sending a money order out blindly like that).

Actually it's a good thing for him I did not bite, I'm a 28+ year Sheriff's Lieutenant and interstate fraud will get him a not so free trip to my jail. I would absolutely guarentee he would have been prosecuted.

PS, his profile has apparently been totally deleted (he was using the dave name and gave me the phone number of 469-366-7480 or (469)366-7480 (in case someone searches it I'm posting it both ways).
 
Did you ever find out his real name? I probably made a HUGE mistake by trying to buy a detector from someone on this forum named William1. I sent a money order over a week ago to buy a machine and have heard nothing from him. I did everything I could think of to check him out but I now have a really bad feeling about it. Fortunately I work for a lawyer who said he would "go after" him if it turns out I have been swindeled. LET me EMPHASIZE I have not heard from William1, that does not mean antyhing yet but if I haven't heard from him by the end of the week it probably will mean something bad has happened and I will have been shafted.
