Went to that old cith park again about 1 hr- not much at first a few pennys (6)- 1 nickel- then a ring my 1st- it says SEC. TEC. 85 on the top and on the sides it says 93 GENERACION 96-- and on the other it says ES and under that it says DGOST i think its silver i was so jazzed i really could not belive it when i pulled up from 6 inches a 1916 MERCURY DIME also a 1st, Wow i cant stop now! still looking for some gold and ill find it and thanks John E and UW and every one ealse that gives there wisdom so freely Bob
 
They only mintage 264,000 and this information is out of the 2004 U.S. Coin Digest book,a 1916D graded at G-4 $640. VG-8 $975. and it goes on up XF-40 $2,800. and even higher, look and hope it has a D' mint mark. Good luck and HH' Bernie
 
In my redbook of us coins (2004 edition) a 1916 mercury dime from denver mint ( D mint mark) lists for $1,400 in f-12 condition, because there were only 264,000 minted. There were barber dimes minted in 1916 also. WHICH DID YOU FIND?
