Today the weather managed to creep up near 60 degrees. I took advantage of it and went to the carnival lot for one last season ride. Pulled a bunch of clad, a 1946 quarter that was lying right on top of the ground and 6 wheat cents.1957-D, 1946-D, (2)1948,1940, and 1946. I pulled some iron out of the ground to give everyone an idea of the iron that is buried beneath the landscape. This is basically what the entire lot is buried with. Some places obviously not as bad as others and then there are some places I can hold my coil a foot or two off the ground.
The pic with all the iron pieces all came out of one hole. Now you can see waht kind of difficulty I have pulling coins out of this lot. The hunting is very slow going but it does produce some silver. The lantern burner was a good foot in the ground. I also found pieces of roof slate and thick glass (like what the old glass milk bottles were made out of) and old dishware. I love the little truck I found. I truly believe there is much more to come out of this place with plenty of patients.
Thanks for looking - Jim aka q-man
