A variety coin kind of hunt. :garrett:

Had one of those coin hunts this morning that for me anyway, just hasn't come along all that often of late. I hit the woods and my very first coin target was a 1900 V nickel. Then for quite a while it was clad, Memorials and junk targets being dug. Hunting along I stuck the 11" coil under a big down oak and moved along it and got a nice high tone with a bounce from the around 83 to 90. Dug it and from about 4" popped the 43d Mercury and the 56 Washington quarter. Of course, I then discovered I had left my camera in my ditty bag in my vehicle. About ten minutes later I dig the 1st I H. The rest of the woods hunt was clad and cents. Upon leaving the woods I had about a 75 yard walk to reach my vehicle and decided to hunt slowly on a straight line to my SUV. This area is has been a picnic area probably since the early 1900's. It is a bed of trash and has had a few coils swung over it over the years too. It is definitely a spot for a small coil....and the smaller the better. Anyway, about half way to my car I dug a wheat cent and about 3 feet further along I dug another I H. Rechecked the hole and recovered another. The dates on the Indian's are 1891, 1893 and 1900. The wheats are 46 and 50. It is a beautiful day here in W Tn. Have a great weekend, all. HH jim tn

Man...you are really locked on with that Pro! Having a bit too much fun with it yet? Have you looked around your area for some water to get into and wade around in? Before the big summer crowds and the snakes come out? Those are some really nice finds for only one morning..congrats Jim!:please:

Multiple Silver and Indians is a GOOD DAY !!

Nice variety of coins, Jim. Hope I'm half that lucky when I go to our old church grounds this pm. Mud, I'm with you on the water, but just can't seem to get my feet wet. Great weather in Ga, but circumstances beyond my control are keeping me at home. I was reading this history book and found this area that used to be the place of outdoor crowds of as many as 5,000 people on 4th of July, but it's mostly developed now. I sent the property owners a request by email to detect there, but no answer yet. This area might just be a gold mine of old coins. It was popular in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It's about an hours drive from me. I will be doing my physical therapy 3 times a week near here and could work in 3 hunts a week if I could stand it. I'm hoping they will allow me to hunt what isn't developed and find some good coins & jewelry. HH.

Jim you did great!!!! It got a little warm today.:)
