Went to a neighbouring town 130kms away to pick up my son from a trip, so I packed the 1500 to fill in a few hours while I waited. It was a pretty hot day (around 38C) and found that I was drinking way more water than normal.
Anyway I had a park in particular in mind that was worth a good working over.Armed with the 5x10 coil the targets came up quickly at first, then slowed down noticeably. It could have been that the heated was distracting my concentration, plus I think my poor old Pro pointer seems to be on it's last legs. It starts sounding off on it's owned as if it was low on battery charge. A change of batteries didn't change things. It's been a great asset. I got used to hunting without one, but the Pro pointer has spoilt me.
I got a couple of really great surprises. I pulled up a US dime, which here in Australia is not a common find. It hit just above goldie notch but I was curious. About 2 hours later and a heat break I came across 2 very close positive signals that immediately grabbed my attention and after a quick investigation, up popped these 2 very old Chines coins! Only the second time that I have recovered a Chinese coin. They are of the same denomination. I placed them in the Photo to show the markings on each side. Ended the hunt with $25 in modern stuff, a junk ring, the dime and these 2 Chinese coins.
