A typical hunt for me

Well, it might be a little better than typical with four silvers, but I do expect at least one or two per hunt. I seldom post my finds on here because after a while it becomes pretty much the same old thing with different "goodies" but I thought I would give the newbies to the CTX a different perspective than most of the other posted finds.

This is pretty much what I dig on a hunt, what I forgot to include in the first picture is an old rasp that overloaded the CTX........... I always dig overloads....... you just never know....... and a thick copper wire about a foot long that was bent into a ball. My digs are pretty much trash free depending what you call trash and I use a modified program most of the time I call Indian-Up. I accept 12-31 on up and have that bin high tone so if I get a repeatable high tone, it is going to get dug up, exceptions are surface 12-42's which are memorials and surface 12-36's which are zinc-o-lins in my ground, and I use Ferrous-Coin, Target Trace.

When I field or Park hunt I open up the discrimination to accept just about everything except foil..... 12-01 to 12-09 rejected but my primary hunting grounds are private property yards, many of them are virgin to metal detecting and the return silver ratio per hours hunted is what I would call exceptional. There are the usual "goodies" that are fun to dig and I consider them "keepers" as well.

I had the chance to hunt a couple of times this week and these are what I have found yard hunting this week. So if you are hunting only public parks and property that have been hunted thousands of times, give private property a try, get the nerve up to start a friendly conversation with a homeowner and ask for permission to hunt.

My pile looks about the same except more zinc pennies. FYI though, I found a small platinum ring that came in at 12-6.
