A TURN ON AND GO MACHINE QUESTION???

RELIC_HUNTER

New member
I want to purchase a turn on and go machine for a friend.I am looking at the 1236xs and the silver Umax...Any input please.

I have owned and used both the 1236x will cost you more, but better depth, can be hip mounted.

Both your options are good machines.

Silver uMax will come with lifetime warranty.

I prefer Tesoro.

Troy X5 is about as good as it gets light at 2.5 pounds 1 nine volt battery great pinpointing 19.3 kHz so can sweep quick and doesn't miss much. Dan

The silver uMax would be the easiest to learn, but I hope you have good ground to hunt, since its a fixed ground balance machine. I learned on a Cibola, which is very similiar to the uMax machine you're talking about, but the ground here is a little hot and it reduced the effective depth of the fixed ground balanced Cibola by about 1-2 inches. If he can afford it the Vaquero would be a much better choice, since you can adjust the ground balance on it. Also, you could check out the used machines and probably get a Vaquero or Eldorado for the same price used as the Silver uMax would go for new.

Might take a good look at the Xterra 30..Pretty effective turn on and go detector.

But the troy sure likes Iron.

The better to deal with it my friend.:)

You got to see it to see past it.

HH,

The MXT is a great turn on and go machine if you have the extra money it's worth the investment. Pump a few times and go!!
