A true challenge...

Hello All,
This could be a tough one! Rang up as iron and is heavy. Found this in an area (Atlanta) where I found some CW bullets last week. It was in a green belt type area with homes built around it. This area gets very wet after a rain from the nearby creek. I am thinking some kind of farming tool? But I really have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Taz,
You all are too good, not as tough as I thought!!!
I guess there is no real way to date it?

No way to tell age That I know of. They were pretty much the same in 1860s and are still used now. The part you have is called a shear finger.

It's a guide for a sycle bar mower. They are still used today, farm stores sell them today. No way to judge how old, they were used on horse drawn mowers also.

Thanks Taz and Ralph. It was an interesting piece coming out of the ground. The electrolysis tank I made worked as advertised. Thanks for your input!!
