A trip to the beach lands me another gold/diamond ticket!

My hunting buddies weren't available, so I went to the beach alone. It was a gorgeous day and I was there for hours.

The fishermen were having fun. Lots of action there. Guess we're all treasure hunters, in a way.

Found a cool Spiderman toy. He offered to show off my other cool find: a 10K gold men's ring with 11 diamonds! (Yes - tested real!)

I'll be doing my first time beach hunting on the 23rd. I'm headed to Lake Worth to visit my sister and beach hunt for a week. I'm hoping I can find one nice ring to bring home. If I find more that will be great, but I'm hoping that I learn how to hunt the beach more than anything.

I plan on hunting the beach there at Lake Worth. Is that the best place. Are there any restrictions?

You've really started to shine since getting that Excal. Nice photo posts, lots of bling, and now...A MASCOT! Every good beach hunter needs a mascot. And on the pics, like Max said...they look fine.

As for the ring, there's nothing harder to capture in my opinion than the "in person" appearance of a diamond ring. With all of that glitter it's so hard to get a clear picture of the actual stones. I usually end up taking a dozen pictures and then MAYBE pulling ONE out of there I like well enough to post. I've have a Canon 7.1 MP camera for the last year or so and before that a Fuji 3.2 and before that a Sony 1.2. I haven't taken all of my best shots with the 7.1 as some might expect. Sometimes light and background make a lot more difference. And of course a tripod is a MUST for doing good macro shots.

... but depending upon which detector you use, I might suggest South of the Pier at Lake Worth Beach, due to the large amount of iron north of the pier. I think it might be related to past hurricane activity. If you have a PI, for God's sake, don't even consider hunting north of the Lake Worth Pier. You will want to pull your hair out!

I'll be heading up to Daytona Beach for the Great Southern Beach Shootout at the end of that week. I hope you have a great time and post your finds and photos when you return!
