A total surprize find

I was digging in the closet a little while ago and in a shoe box I came across this old bank bag. I had totally forgot about this stuff and have not seen it in years. In 1985 we got locked out of where I was working. All of my metal detecting gear and silver finds I sold to put food on the table for the family. Well so I thought. Inside of a folded up envelope (inside of the bank bag inside of the shoe box) was my Barber Half and my 2 Seated Liberty Dimes. I thought for sure I had sold all of it. These were my top 3 finds for 1983 and 1984. It actually got to me a little bit seeing these for the first time in many years. What a pleasant surprize to know that I do still have these and they will be handed down to my granddaughters. You can see some of the surface scratches on the face's of the coins. That's the way they cleaned up years ago. There is some more finds that I will take a pic of later. Just some odds and ends that I found back then. I just wanted to share this find with you guy's.

A belated congratulations on those finds Robbie................. 30 years belated...... We are happy you found them..... again.

What a story. Thanks for sharing it with us Robbie. I think someone is looking over you. ;-) Very heartwarming! HH, no matter where it is.......a shoebox or in the ground.

Thanks guy's I really appreciate it. I'm still happy today to be able to sit here and hold the old coins in my hands. What a fantastic feeling!!!

That is a great find man. It's cool to hear about things come full circle in good way. Thanks for sharing. HH!

Question is, "Did you have your detector in your hand when you found them?"

Very nice find and story!

:please:  Inside joke Robbie. You had to be at the meeting.:blowup:

I didn't have the detector in hand when I found them. I did have the vacuum out though.
