Roland Dalcourt has got to be one of the top hunters on the planet. His finds include six Rolexes, several Cartier watches, Brietlings, and last winter alone he found three diamond solitares worth over $15,000 each. The best one appraised at $18.500. HIs biggest chain was over 200 grams. He chest mounts the Excalibur so I thought that forum members might be interested in some of the mods he does to a new unit to protect the cables and contain any excess. He uses 3M rubberized tape to bind the cables. I'll also put up a picture of some of his finds from last season including a 90 gram 18k chain and a $5000 diamond studded bangle. His motto? "I am the king" He is.

I cant always judge a hunters skills by the dollar value of the targets found. There are guys i hunt with that have that deep concentration and just a nack for finding targets where others didnt. I give a lot of credit to the ones who hunt areas with a lot of competition or difficult to hunt locations that others seem to avoid or over looks. These guys spend a lot of time in the water or on the beach and some seem a bit obsesive to still have that dedication after a lot of years doing it. There are hunters and then there are HUNTERS. Like your friend Clive we never hear much about them. Most are quiet humble hunters not looking for glory...... but often find it. Just to obverse how easy they make it seem makes me want to spend time with them and try and see what makes them tick.

Clive, those are nice finds.Dew made a good point.People who have made great finds have learned form others and past experiences to keep their best finds private or low keyed.Too many crooks want to profit from the hard work of a treasure hunter. Thanks Ron

Ron .... im all for helping someone find their stuff or even giving something back listed on craigs list, but its getting easier for people to get help or find their stuff on sites like this. We also have some people who locate this stuff for profit and some arent above letting a person know who has it as long as they get paid. Its getting iffy on posting expensive finds found locally especially. Ive known a few thats had give backs after posting a find or showing some of the rings they have collected over the years. Some people hunt for the thrill and could care less about the give back, even to those who just dont appreciate it, everyone gets something different from our hobby...... for me ..... it beats golf.

I wish the pictures of the mods were larger so that I could see what was done. Always looking for ways to protect my investment in Metal Detectors.
