A Toltec 100 user

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with this vintage detector. It is a shame that Tesoro no longer produces it.
I confess that I do not "dig all targets", but rely on the discrimination to sort through the trash at our local parks and rec. fields. It does not one take long to realize that nickels are a tough target to ID correctly.
The Toltec 100 has started bringing up the nickels I have been missing, and I am pleased. I just could not get the Fisher CZ-5 to correctly ID this coin, although it was a fine machine.
Well done Tesoro.

I use more than one brand detector, but among the Tesoro line the Lobo ST for non metered relic hunting and the Toltec 100 for a ID meter detector are my picks.. I have also owned the Cortes but when thinning out some of my ID detectors I gave the Cortes up and kept the Toltec 100. Stability like a rock, great ID meter, manual GB in both modes, and by using both sensitivity & threshold controls together can get some great depth...definitely a keeper.....Dave

Had to try the Toltec again yesterday to see if it could repeat it's performance. It correctly pointed out two more nickels for me at our local rec. field. Very impressed with it's discrimination.

I couldn't agree more. And personally, I found the Toltec 100 to have one of the most accurate target ID meters I've ever used. It was outstanding on Civil War relics. Depth was comparable to many of the 9.5 inch competitor coils as well. I really like analog "needle" meters, and if Tesoro ever brought back a Toltec that had micro features but retained the original 100s electronics, I'd be the first customer <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> They were one of my Tesoro favorites. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
