A T Pro/A T Gold?

jim tn

Well-known member
I know this has been asked before, but am wondering what the differences are between the Pro and Gold? Some of you I know have both and am wondering if maybe the Gold was a little deeper. Thanks for any responses. HH jim tn

Jim I have the ATP but I know a fellow that has both and I asked him the same question his responce to me was to him there is no difference in depth between the two machines he has , but that the gold is a lot more sensitive to small targets with that being said I have dug lead shot at 6 inches with my ATp so I guess sensitivity could be the soil and how you set the machine up with GB JMHO though!

Thanks Barry. Our relic hunting season is about to began down here, so will give the ATP a good work out doing some woods hunting with it. Thanks again. HH jim tn

Good Luck would love to hit some of those woods out there as well not many civil war sites or such here I have to stick to old homesites and Plowed fields when I get lucky enough to find a farmer to let me own one LOL

A few differences.

AT-Pro: 15khz
Large DD coil
Standard Mode(ACE series ding dong tones), Pro mode(Low tone, medium tone, high tones)
Able to notch out targets in all modes
Iron audio has distinctive low growls.

AT-Gold: 18khz
Smaller DD coil
All Metal Mode(deeper than AT-Pro, only low tone and medium tones, only able to change discrimination settings while iron audio is on.)
Two discrimination modes(one with everything notched in and the other has pulltabs and foil notched out. Low tone, medium tone, high tones.Discrimination works with iron audio on or off.)
Unable to notch out targets in any mode
More ground balance features for hot ground conditions
Higher frequency makes it more sensitive to smaller non-ferrous targets and gold nuggets
Iron audio has higher pitched growling tone.

I think that's all the differences. Correct me if I missed anything.

Looks like you covered pretty well like I said the fellow I know that has both said he saw no depth difference in the two of his but maybe he has not tested out the all metal mode and I might ask is the all metal mode on the gold a no motion all metal or does the coil have to be moving ?

In all metal mode the AT Gold is deeper. It has a bit higher frequency as well that lets it hit gold and relics a bit better. All around hunting the AT Pro is HARD to beat!

Holler if you have questions!
