A surprising find at Heartburn Park

Heartburn Park, not really much different than a lot of parks we all come across. I don't know for sure but developed sometime before 1940. Right now it has 2 ballfields, a soccer field, some very old swings, & monkey bars. There's a good concession stand that unfortunately wraps something in aluminum foil, which ends up being mowed all over the place. Aluminum can slaw also.
So yesterday toughing it out in the oldest part of the park. Finding a mix of clad both deep and shallow. Hitting a lot of those sweet sounding deep pieces of can slaw, pull tabs, foil. So working my way on a hard beaten path to a rest room, I get a signal in the nineties. (Using a AT Pro) Sounded clean, real clean. Like maybe a can. But the grounds too hard for anything deep. So I started scratching with my screwdriver. Just under bare ground sitting on gravel, jumps up a 1936 Silver Walking Liberty Half dollar. So I scratched the top, and from being run over scratched on the bottom too. Well anyway yesterday s full melt worth, little over $7.
Just proves your libel to find anything , anywhere, any time. If you ever get bored hunting easy places, grab a smaller target separating, coil. Clean out one of these places. Just watch what you eat before you go. (Heartburn) !

It's not every day you pull a walking half from a worked out park. Congratz !

I like the way you think, Dancer. Noticing the hard ground and NOT grabbing a shovel.

You wouldn't Really melt a 1936 WL, would you??

Nah, I get one like this, (not very fine) I'll look for a place to mount it somewhere. Like having Lady Liberty facing out from the bow of my fishing boat. Big change for her, after being buried for awhile.
