A stroll in the surf lane produces nitro, "stuff" and gold :)

Caught the negative tide on a beautiful day. Still quite a few people on the beach and in the water...

Well, truth be known, I found this first one at a tot lot before I hit the beach. A definite nitro moment :stretcher: Gold plate was wearing off but it sure looked nice :)

Found some other interesting looking junk... These were all very tiny. I have to say, the ExpII is unbelievably sensitive to small objects. That "diamond" stud earring isn't made up of much metal.

These are both junk too... I must have broken the "turquoise" necklace with the scoop. The "ruby" thing sure looked good with the sun shining on it :)

Then I came upon a lousy sounding shallow target that I almost passed up. Turned out to be this 18K bracelet that was completely open around 3" down.

The next gold was this little 14K baby shoe pendent...

The last thing I hit was this bracelet. I'll have to get it tested as I can't find any marks on it. Looks good, just not sure.

So, not a bad stroll on the beach. Here's a last shot of the gold finds...

I'm using the stock 10.5 but I followed Max's advice and went to a 0 threshold. What a difference. Very quiet, even running at a 27 / 28 sensitivity all metal. Doesn't seem to affect depth at all and as far as sensitivity to small things, well, you can see from some of the tiny stuff I found, that's not an issue. I'm going to try it with the X-12 next time out. Haven't been able to use it at the beach... it just falsed as soon as the coil hit the sand. Maybe with the 0 threshold it'll be better. We'll see...
