A strange and happy day

The other evening I decided to post one of my old detectors for sale online. In the morning, I got a strange reply to my ad. A gentlemen responded with a frantic plea to help him find his wedding ring that he lost while fishing the night before. I agreed to meet after work at Huntington Beach and give it a try.

He provided pretty good directions to his fishing spot, and I started hunting before he arrived. I found the ring within a minute. I went back to the parking lot to wait for the man to arrive. He soon arrived and was very animated and anxious to get started. I reached into my pocket and pulled out his ring. Although he was a big manly man, he immediately laughed while tearing up, and said he was so happy he could hug me. He offered a reward and would not be refused. He laughed and expressed joy all the way back to his car. No doubt, the thrill of finding a flashy thing in your scoop is great (even if you are pretty much guided to it). The thrill of helping someone is even better. Nevertheless, the thrill of seeing his joy was priceless. What a great sport we have!!!!
