My sister that moved to Oregon, and finally settled in Washington state, told me this story, today:She talked her son,who has nothing to do with church, and her daughter in law,who does not have any use for the Lord either,to attend Christmas Eve candlelight services at a church a little ways down the road from them.GREAT,RIGHT???COULD HAVE BEEN,because my sister told me all of them were totally ignored, not greeted,no introductions, nothing.I cannot think of a worse thing to happen,to people already gun shy of church, and anything to do with it......
Denomination does not matter,we are all in the same boat.As a cloud of believers, that REALLY,REALLY stinks,PERIOD.What if these two young folks had decided 'yes, they were finally going looking for the Lord',and got snubbed like that?TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE,BROTHERS AND SISTERS,AND I WILL TELL YOU THIS:I will make it my personal task to say hello and welcome to EVERY PERSON AT OUR CHURCH,AT EVERY SERVICE,BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW..........Jesus' admonition of 'welcoming the unknown' sure crashed and burned at one church last night, and as for me,I am totally ashamed......:(
