Temps were dropping rather quickly from the upper 30's to 28 when I started and finished my morning stint and had a nice brisk north breeze blowing 20 mph with gusts to 33. Nothing, though, like a little silver to help keep one warm. About ten minutes into the hunt got a nice 82-83 reading and from 4" popped the 64d Rosie. Not a lot of targets along the stretch I was working, but a dig here and there kept me going. Glad it did as at the end of my hunt while swinging back towards my SUV got a nice 89-90 reading and from about 5" got the 53d Washington quarter. I thought, "good way to end the hunt," and I did. I didn't bring my camera along as felt it was just to chilly for messing with it. Wish I had, though, as that quarter looked mighty nice just laying on the bottom of the flipped over clod. My cure for battery freeze up worked, too. HH jim tn
