A sinkers and silver kind of day......

Ian (Japan)

Sunday afternoon hunt at the beach (the one with the windsurfing club) by myself, used an Ace 150.
As you can see it was a sinkers kind of day, almost every shape and size.
Kept the lighter because, mmmmm..... it works! and it has a LED light at the bottom too, hence the three batteries inside. Toys for big kids to play with. ;)

1,857 yen in coins (about US$15.50)
Two silver rings.
1935 Japanese coin - to the top left of the cross. Nice to see some older coins recently.

People outside having picnics, it is still quite warm. Some (about 30) boy scouts were there too and they did a quick clean up of part of the beach before they departed. Great.

Careful you don't get lead poisoning!! Good load of loot!! As many goodies as you find, I'm surprised you don't get more gold. Do the Japanese wear much gold? They evidently don't lose it if they do!! Happy Hunting!!

Japanese tend to wear more platinum (around 85 percent of the total world jewelry platinum) than gold, although now many shops are selling white gold too so I expect to see more of that in the future.
Silver is very cheap still so is almost given away by shops and is very popular too.

So, in theory there should be a lot more platinum coming our way, but there hasn't been. It is my main target metal though. Will sample some other beaches (more of the tourist type than city) during winter and see if that changes the balance. ;)
