A silver turkey hunt

I have been blessed with a wonderful 3 days camping in the spring woods with my son and turkey hunting.I have always loved the challenge of calling a wiley old long beard into shotgun range and these days it is about the only hunting I do.Due to health problems,I didn

for you and your son that you both got to share these three days in the woods, your son will never forget it <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Nice bird ya got and you top it off with a silver dressing <img src="/metal/html/clap.gif" border=0 width=20 height=30 alt=":clap">

Congrats on the harvest of a fine bird.
Blessings on the quality time with your son.
I could smell that bacon and eggs on that old coleman stove, as I read your story.
You are so right. Life is GOOD.
With blessings from the good Lord above, perhaps we'll have another season or two left in us. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
Thanks so much for your story. By the way, the silver is a 'most excellent' icing on the proverbial cake, my friend.
Good to hear from you. <><

and I can assure you, your son will remember ALL your special times, not only because you want him to, but because you have that special knack for making things unforgettable to your family.
This past Saturday, I spent fishing, on a small pond. All the other camp members went fourwheeling, and I fished. As I sat in the boat, I heard the old owl hoot. Instantly, I thought of my daddy! I know he was there in spirit with me, and me and him and the fish just had a fine time.
I know he is with me, with the whipporill he bids me good night, and with the owl call he says good morning.
You are a good father, and I think you sit way high on a pedastal with you children and grandchildren! Letting them know about our life is one of the many ways we can create memories for them. I just wish I had paid closer attention sometimes. The best way is spending quality time with them, and getting the most out of it. Sounds to me like you did a fine job! Both with the turkies, and with your son! Then the best part is sitting down and "eating what you kill." Now days, we don't depend on that, but I remember days where my family would have gone hungary if it were not for the rewards of a hunt!
You and my brothers should get together. They love to turkey hunt, especially Johnboy. As far as I know, there is no law about how long you can hunt as long as it's in season.
Thank you for this very special post. Took me back to days gone by, hunting with my father. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

I thoroughly enjoyed it. My son and did our father and son thing when we were diving. He never showed that much interest in hunting, at least not that type. He always enjoyed diving and metal detecting so that was our quality time.
I can assure you that he will remember. My son, even to this day, calls about once or twice a week. We talk and he still brings up some of those old diving tales.
All the best
M

You seem to have it all buddy. Good buddy, turkey and silver!
I hope you can post some pictures of the camp and your son too! Adds to the story

The time you and your son spent around the fire is way more precious than that silver. Nice digs too!

It was a great hunt. And killing a turkey had very little to do with it.

Get the chance to hunt with John and Tom.Whether we shot any turkeys or not,I KNOW we would have a great time!

Compared to the one you harvested.With a stick and string no less! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
You certainly earned the bragging rights this year!
Thanks for your kind response.

but you will cherish those times with your son like I always did with my father and still do with my brother. It is a special time each year that we share many things together.
I didnt take one of Gods mighty creatures this year, but still had a great time. More later.
Thanks for a very good story!
God Bless,
Lil Brother <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
