Detected for about 5 hours today and the weather was great again. Celebrated a low keyed Thanksgiving lunch with the family and In-laws. Had an imported American smoked ham, mashed taters, green beans and coleslaw, it was tasty and I pigged out! I

Especially the part about the pot of beans! Hey you handled that guy at the field a lot better than I would have. He's probably an Archie or something. Hey, maybe he read about that FIASCO called the G.N.R.S. this year  Nice finds!

The curved doo-hickey looks like a sacking needle/sail cloth needle/ or net making needle .... but I don't see an eye or grooves for a string.

That's the inner part of a fancy shoe buckle.....probably 1700's.

Any idea how old those cool glass beads are?

That handle looking thing posted with the musket balls has been IDed as a Bronze Age bronze bar here in Europe on a forum. It was made that way and is not broken, several of these things could have been melted down into a small Axe head. Maybe used as a trade item or as money. Here's a picture of several bars with small axe heads. The bar is 4.25" long. I hope so and if it is, 2006 will be a tough year to beat. HH, Mike
