So, I decided to hit the old courthouse grounds and see if I could find some more silver. I'm digging a little gopher hole next to the steps and look up to see two badges. I thought "Oh, snot" or a similar word with the same first and last letters
Turns out they were just making their rounds, there's a county jail behind the courthouse. They were nice guys, interested in metal detecting, and one mentioned that he was going to buy a detector (used to have one a while back), so I got in a plug for the AT. We had a nice chat and they gave me a couple of ideas for other spots to hunt.
I Got one 1958 Rosie dime. Then, my heart started fluttering when I dug the ring and saw the 18KT stamp. Too bad, it's just plated and the stone is chipped & scratched, had me going for a minute, though! The penny that looks like it stopped a bullet was a wheatie, though you can hardly tell. I had fun, though, and it was a beautiful day. It rained all night and shows no sign of letting up, but the ground should be nice and soft when I can get out again!
HH!!
