A screen glare tip for the CTX...

I recently purchased a cover for my CTX screen box to help protect the screen. It does a good job but the hood that attaches to the top to help shield the screen glare is basically useless! I then noticed that the glare is coming from the bottom of the screen so I decided to move the glare shield on the bottom and..."viola" the glare was reduced to almost 80%! I know that this is not it's intended use and it looks kinda weird...but...hey it works for me! I can still access all my buttons for control and have a screen that is watchable. And with the back light on it works super.

Just a tip for those who do not like the glare with plastic screen covers.

See the pics! Try one out for yourself and see if it makes a difference for you.

Charles,

I like it.

Now I'll have to try remember where I put my hoods when I took them off. :)

I think what would be perfect, is having the hood go all the way across the top, sides and bottom of the backlit portion of the screen...leaving the button area free.
(Like having what you've done in addition to keeping the original position.)

Similar to the monitor 'hoods' used for outdoor/location computer use.

I may have the wife make something up.

Wow, thanks for the tip! I wonder if this will work on the Explorers? I'll have to try it.

I have never noticed a glare problem with my CTX.
I wonder if it's the rain cover that causes most of the problem.
