Just like here in the US, fathers would build them, and the kids would ride them in a grand race that was watched by thousands. Fads are like that in Manila. Just to let you know, in the Philippines, when a fad catches on, the whole nation jumps in and creates quite a phenomenon. The whole country

Hope he did well at the derby!
Thanks for relating the story to us. It is really good that the car was still in one piece, even if your friend wasn't.

Thanks for posting!!

thanks for the memories of my childhood........we had a big hill and rode these thingys rentlessly till the local cops got to writing us speeding tickets and running stop signs, reckless driving and drivin under the influence

I believe most of us can identify with home made go carts and skinned knees.Brought back lots of memories....Thanks for posting.

I remember seeing some of them racing, side by side, down a steep hill...this was on television. Just looking at them, you could tell that lots of work went into building them. Your story brought back many memories, thank you! Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
