A response to the request for a small 3 kHz coil......

Minelab has informed me that a small 3 kHz DD X-Terra coil is not currently part of their development plan.

Thanks to those who took the time to contact Minelab, expressing an interest.

oh well I am doing fine with my 9" 3khz
I went back to a house where I gridded it 2 directions with my 9" 3khz, and I put on my 6" coil, I went slow, like there is any other way with those 6" coils, and I found 3 clad coins and one wheat I missed before, so no big deal to me, I think if you grid a place you will get most of the goods, go just real slow and overlap the swings at least 50%

Well, it's better to have tried and failed, then not try at all.

Thanks Randy for trying...I didn't even get a response from Minelab. Guess I'm not important..just a customer. ::rofl:

Thanks Randy, I didn't get a response either - although I had asked if they were planning a 3khz 6" coil. I'm giving consideration to buying the 3khz 9" coil and wonder if that would be a good investment? I seem to do well with the 7.5khz 9" and the 18.75khz DD 5" x 10" on coins. I haven't used the DD coil at the beach yet but plan to sometime this summer.

because they figured out (in short order) that I was the one who had enticed the "email bombardment". Minelab is smart enough to recognize all customers as being "important". But they also figured that, since I made the original post, I could provide their response to everyone. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to express their views. HH Randy

"Minelab has informed me that a small 3 kHz DD X-Terra coil is not currently part of their development plan."

Oh well it was worth a try Randy. I wonder if they will ever licence out to a 3rd party company to make coils for a licencing fee for the special chip, like to Detech or CoilTek ?

Randy..the use of the word "important" was meant to be a funny..I had no intent to offend you or Minelab. TomB

IMPORTANT! Oh NO! I misread it. I thought it said impotent!:rofl: Heck, I wasn't offended. I was just wanting to make sure no one else was either. HH Randy
