a really COOL and OLD trigger guard

hello all, i found this old trigger guard in the same old farm field i found a nice yankee cuff button and oodles of flat buttons. it's solid brass and heavy, and broke from the rifle. there's a cool floral engraving on the bottom of it. does anyone have any idea what rifle it might have come from? thanks, and hh!

Just a thought. The style of the trigger guard might help tell what it is off of and how old.
