..At my church;we are celebrating its 50th anniversary this next Sunday, the 12th of November. As I am a member of church council there;at our meeting today we were finalizing plans for the celebration...Me and another woman parishioner are doing "THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC"-me playing the guitar;and her singing-Other music is scheduled;a catered dinner;the Synod Bishop is going to preach;etc.WELL:it seems there is a time capsule buried in the brick wall that was put there when the church was built in 1965,behind the date plaque.THIS SATURDAY,WE ARE GOING TO GRIND THE MORTAR AWAY FROM THE PLAQUE,AND REMOVE THE TIME CAPSULE;AND OPEN IT DURING THE 50TH CELEBRATION ON SUNDAY!!:thumbup:HOW COOL IS THAT???I guess the plan is to check out whats in there from 1965;and add some things from the 40th,and this 50th anniversary;and then put'er back in;and seal 'er back up until the next anniversary;whenever that will be...I am going to take my video camera and digital still camera and record the removal of the time capsule Saturday;and the opening of the capsule on Sunday at the celebration.I will try to get some pics here for all to see.:bouncy:
