A quick lost ring find from a yard & Nice knife find from the beach

I received a call last week from my CL ad from a guy that lost his wedding ring. He was pretty sure after going through his car and house that he either lost it mowing a friends lawn, or in his yard.
Rudy was crushed at the loss of his ring, his wife had the ring custom made from other family rings and he blamed himself for not taking it off since he lost a bunch of weight after going through treatment for throat cancer recently.
I agreed to meet him the following day at the house he mowed the lawn at first since it was the closest. Using the Elliptical coil and knowing if the ring was there, It would be a surface find, I lowered the sens and hunted in AM. There was very little trash or other targets to contend with and after doing the front and side yards I moved to the back where less than thirty minutes into the hunt, I got the tone and TID (12) that I was looking for. More than elated and emotional, Rudy gave me a big hug and then wanted to reward me with a hundred dollars, which I refused.

Beach hunts with the 705/HF DD Elliptical have been slow this month. No good jewelry to show, even after Labor day I could only fill my pouch with coins. But I did find this Benchmark flipper knife, it rang up with a TID 4 and a grunt in AM on the 705. Was surprised to see what it sells for, found them on internet sites selling new for $175/150 or used for $120.00. GL ALL

Good work. These types of situations only promote our "sport". Thank you for
creating good will for and from all of us.

Excellent recovery, and an awesome act on your part Bob! :clapping: You're an asset to the hobby for sure!

Congratulations. That was such a good thing you done for him. Him going through cancer he had been through a lot and then losing his ring. Glad you found it and gave it back to him. He will always remember that. And it is good for our sport too. Job well done.

Great job on the ring!
Benchmark knifes are one of the best made IMO. Very high quality. Great find, it's a keeper!
