A quick hunt

Went out yesterday with my son to the local middleschool(1920's). We have hunted this place well so I wasn't expecting much. We only had an hour to an hour and a half. My son went his way and I went mine. After about 40 minutes I had two Mercs and went over to see if Nate had found anything. We both didn't expect to find any silver so he smiles and tells me he found a merc. Of coarse I informed him I found two! He told me later that he was planning to give me a lecture on where to hunt. Guess I got out of that one. :heh:
Also stopped at my moms for literaly 15 minutes and found the plate with the horse on it. Nate was out of school today but I had all the "good" detectors in my car at work but he still managed to find the 1930 Wheat with his old White's Classic III at the local park. Ring is a cheap mood ring. Last picture is Nate behind the middleschool.

Happy Hunting

Mirage You are lucky to have the father son thing going. I love it.
Great pictures. Your son seems to do real well with the DFX. How do you compare it to the Quattro? I love to find mercs!

Thanks Rick and Chuck. It is nice to have an always present hunting partner. Only down side is that sometimes he finds all the good stuff! No, most of the time it's fairly even but sometimes he can smoke me with that DFX. He tends to swing fast and cover more ground in a kinda random pattern whereas I work methodically and slower. As for overall depth - both machines are about equal with the Quattro being able to id the lower conductivity targets better at greater depths. You tend to dig more deep rusty iorn and pull tabs with the DFX. The DFX does has better target separation which gives it the edge in trashy spots. Both are great machines and the key is to know your machine and be comfortable with it.
