Felt like a little fun before going off to work, so took out my new Legacy 3500 for a short half hour hunt at a RV park. I saw a vacant RV spot that I'd hunted before with my Pioneer 505. In a small area no bigger than 5' X 5', I got mixed signals close together but they were repetitive. So I isolated and pinpointed and dug the one at a time. I ended up with 2 quarters, 2 dimes,1 nickel1 copper cent and 1 zinc cent. Not too bad for a short hunt. HH.
Yes, I'm getting the hang of this detector. It really helped reading the manual before hand and learning how to properly ground balance it. The manual is well written and easy to understand.
For beginners, I'd recommend using all metal motion mode and digging all consistantly repetitive signals. If you get constant falsing and excessive beeping, turn down the sensitivity. After you learn this detector's language and are proficiant in this mode, then experiment with discrimination mode, notching and zapping. HH.
