Maybe you can help me out here.
I have been wanting to buy a metal detector strickly for gold prospecting. After looking at Whites Metal Detectors, I fould a place I could get one, a Gold Master for a bit over $600, a good price. BUT then a fellow tuned me in to MineLab. Now I'm REALLY at a fork in the road. My pocket book can only handle the XT 18000. SOoooo
my question is this, between the two, the Gold Master by Whites and the XT 18000, how do they compare in regards to user friendlyness and preformance?
The Gold Master I can get for a bit over $600 at a discount store I saw in Lost Treasure. a more expensive model of the Minelab in the $1200 range ( I can't remember the model number at the moment ) looked good as well. The Gold Master costs half that amount. Does this mean I might as well figure I would get Have the amount of saucess with this machine?

No, not really, I don't have a clue! <IMG SRC="/forums/images/biggrin.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":D"> But I know who will! Ask Doc and the others that are on the Findmall Prospecting forum. Doc has been a gold digger for years and definitely can help you!

If you want a good gold machine I have the answer
Get a Tesoro Lobo (LST) it is a great machine for gold and doubles as a coin machine, I got close to 100 silver coins in 3 months with mine then decided to get a explorer as my second machine.
The Lobo sells for around $640 but if you watch the buy and sell forums you can get one for around $400 (Tesoro will even treat you well)
