A question on soil mineralization

Member
Does anyone know what is considered high soil mineralization by the numbers on the MXT? The soil in my local area is reading anywhere from 50 - 60 on the MXT. Is that high? What number would be considered "moderate" and "low" soil mineralization by the numbers on the MXT? Thanks in advance for anyone that can assist.

I'm not really the one to answer, but where I hunt, if the meter says it's under 80, the beast is noticeably quieter. Seems like 50-60 would be a low mineralization reading.

I wish the places I hunt read 50-60 on the ground VDI scale. That is pretty mild. An indication of possibly heavy mineralization would be a reading above 80. I say possibly because the ground VDI reading is not an indication of absolute mineralization. If you want to drill down further on that topic, you may want to visit a couple of DFX forums and search for posts from Jeff Foster on that topic.
