Bill I figured if anyone knew the answer to this question it would be you. Now forgive me if this sounds stupid LOL but what or where on the scale would a 1943 Steel wheatie ring in at?? I know it would register as a B target on my 2500. But where on the scale? I have found alot of wheaties but never a '43 steelie then I thought about it and realized that I have prolly passed over alot of them.....Hence the old saying "When in doubt DIG"
thanks Bill

These 2 are 20+ years old now, but just rusted steel slugs back then. Today there might not be anything left of them if still in the ground. I wondered about this back then and checked what I thought were rusted slugs by sanding off and discovered the slugs I threw away were 1943 pennies. If you hunt in all metal you might find some slugs but can't tell what they are till you sand them off. EZ-Does-It

Sorry I took so long. I had forgotten so tried the 250 and the 1500 on a proof and it registered all the way to the left on iron. Now with a badly corroded one it might register higher as the steel would be exposed. I'll try it again on the 550/1350/2500 but I'm sure the results will be the same.
Strangely the effect known as " Metallurgical Phenomenon" came into play and I could not pick up the proof in coins mode. Had to go to all metal to even get a signal. In ground results would be different. I haven't found one in ages as they are extremely scarce and if in the ground long enough just basically rust away.

I kinda figured the amount of time in the ground would have a affect on them...It was just one of those thoughts that stays in the back of your mind and wont leave <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
Thanks again Bill
