A question about the 12.5" Imaging coil

kickback

New member
Is the 12.5"Imaging coil sensitive to coins and coin sized targets when used on a GTI 2500?Thanks Bill

Short answer is yes. I find that depending on the ground and conditions that some targets ring up a notch away from where they would indicate with the stock coil. That doesn't happen all the time. I found depth and size indicated properly with the 12.5 inch coil for all targets. The coil is quite heavy and throws the detector a bit off balance. Shorten up the swing arm as much as possible to help with this.

Yes it is, and was designed to find targets including coins. It really shines in the relic department covering a lot of ground quickly. It isn't too much heavier either. Garrett designed special holed washers to help keep it steady on the lower rod.
