A question about pinpointers

Old Katz

New member
A question:
Many of my targets in soccer fields and play grounds come in
betwee one and two inches. Before digging the target, if I put the tip
of the pinpointer right down on the ground where I believe the target is
will the PP signal penetrate the gound that deep and detect the target?
It would save me lots of time and make my holes much smaller.

On shallow targets up to three inches deep, I use the DX-1 to pinpoint and my screwdriver to "pop" the target out with little damage to the ground and a fast recovery too.

I do the same as Larry. With my other machines I use a Tesoro Treasure mate in the same way, but it doesn't reach as deep as the DX-1. However, in nice grass where I may be reluctant to disturb the sod, if the target is deeper than the pinpointer reaches, I may pass it up. All in all, pinpointers have simplified and speeded up my retrievals considerably and I strongly endorse their use.

You never said what pinpointer. The Bullseye is going to do more than around 3/4 inch. The DX1 would do the job and will deep with the detector in pinpoint mode. Rob

I ordered the Garrett Pro-pointer today. Should have it this Wed.
Seller paid the shipping charges so I only paid the $127.00. Looking forward
to a better hunting/digging experience.

you will love the garret :super:

I have the Garret and would not leave home with out it, I love my MXT and love my Garret Pro pointer. Very seldom can a guy use a product time and time again and keep saying "what would I do without this?" that's how great the Pro Pointer is.
