A Pirate Sails Off Into The Sunset:super:

Some good friends of mine have decided to live their dream of sailing off into the sunset. Captain Kirk and his lovely wife Joan have sold their charter business after 16 years of taking tourists on cruises around Bermuda. It seems like a cushy job but it's not, more like babysitting oversized preschoolers who ask silly questions like "Is that water wet?"(actual question from a tourist).
After many years of hard work Capt. Kirk and Joan have sold the business and with the profits and their savings they bought a beautiful multi-hull sailboat which they sailed up from the Bahamas to Bermuda on the first leg of their cruise to their new home in Wales where they have bought a little cottage.
Capt. Kirk, true to his pirate heart came in under full sail with the skull and crossbones flying proudly from his stays. We had a big party to celebrate their return to Bermuda and sadly we will be sending them off on the next leg of their trip on Saturday.

I'm really going to miss these guys.:sadwalk:

What a true pirate lifestyle, we should all be so lucky!

Fair Winds and Calm Seas,

BDA, tell Captain Kirk and his lovely wife Joan," MY GOD BLESS THEM WITH CALM SEAS AND A PLEASANT WIND IN THEIR SAILS". A Great story, and for them a great Dream. Thanks for sharing.

I can find out for you aquacop but I think they're a little pricey, about $1.2M fully outfitted. Captain Kirk got his because he is friends with the marine architect who designed it.
The boat you see is a year old and the original owner ran it up on a reef off of the Bahamas, gutting the main hull but not damaging the outriggers. The boat was towed into a marina in Florida where the insurance company denied the claim because the wreck took place outside of U.S. territorial waters.(fellow boat owners -check your policy fine print):ban: The owner contacted the marine architect and asked him if he knew anyone interested in buying the wrecked boat for salvage, "Capt. Kirk" was the architect's reply. Kirk got the boat for $120k and put another $100k into her and she is as good as new. (the fringe benefits of being a shipwright)
I'm pretty sure that the marine architect is out of Mystic Harbour, but I can find out for you.

Captain Kirk has already set sail for England but I'll be able to contact him in 10 days +/- depending on the weather. I'll PM you when I have the info.

Out,
