Changed the beach found coins to paper money.
Then visited a gold shop today to convert most of it into what I like to call 'real money'.
Ken chose the 1/10 oz. Australian Nugget, Riki the Canadian Maple Leaf. And I added another 20 grams (making it a total of 40 grams this year).
Photo naturally isn't actual size, but they sure look and feel like 'real money'.
The most memorable part of the trip to the gold shop for me was that initially we couldn't find it.
I had left the map to it at home!
Then the car navigation system suddenly didn't work.
So, we are driving around the second biggest city in Japan with traffic jams all over the place. With just a rough idea where it was.
Jokingly I said to Ken and Riki they will have to open the car window and smell for the gold at the shop. Then maybe we can find it. Riki said he couldn't because he has a cold! Ken said okay, he will try. So there we are, driving along, he suddenly says "I can smell the gold!" You know what was right in front of us, and I'm not making this up, not the gold shop, but the JAPAN MINT!!
Wow, he must have a nose for the mother load!
The shop wasn't far away from there.
Then, we get home later and I look in my jacket pocket and there is the map to the gold shop!
Fixed the car navigation system easily too.
So, maybe the moral of the story is......mmmm.......I don't know.......mmmm......Don't forget to smell the roses?!
