A penny I found

stewartlittle

New member
Went back to Macon,Ga to my outlaws house again this weekend, and detected the vacant house next door. The houses have been there since the early 1900s.
I found sevel pennies,1 dime,1 bullet and some junk.
One penny I was deep,I had the Razor Gator Digger almost all the way in the hole.I pulled it out thinking it had to Really Old,exited as I could be about my find and the date read 2001.WHAT,I sat there and woundered how such a new penny was so deep.Oh well,it was fun while it lasted.

Also for some of you older than 39 guys,I found another Satillite emblem.
Was that a car?
If it is,I never heard of it.

I have never found an old coin very deep. But I have found

modern coins close to China!!!!!!!!!!!!

What gives with that ?????????

Could it be that the penny was closer to the surface, but when you dug the hole
the penny fell in....or there was fill dirt or sod put down recently???? Did the machine say it was deep?
What MD do you use...Just Curious.

I found a year old Dr. Pepper can 8" deep the other week. The date was based on the bottled date on the can. It wasn't crushed so I don't know how it migrated 8" deep. I guess it was hibernating.

That's a question worth pondering! I've also dug half-way to China only to find new coins, 2003-06 and this was out in the middle of nowhere. How the heck did it get down there, and then I got paranoid and told myself that there's someone out there digging holes and tossing in new coins! That's all I could figure out.

...were dated 2003 - 06 at this old house site i've been hunting. they're not very deep, average 2". i find them about every 25 or 30 ft. got about 20 so far. i've heard about other hunters spreading pennies to throw off anyone who would hunt the grounds in the future. well, that's bizarre, it didn't work, 'cause i've been cleaning up on the old stuff! even found a set of keys with a food lion tag on them. as for finding new cents deep in the ground, stranger things have happened. the earth constantly moves and shifts, it's the same effect as ocean waves, and just as powerful. hh,

My first car was a '69 2 door with the 318 ci engine. Paid $1400.00 used and 2 years later sold it for $900.00 and bought a '71 satellite in dark green. That one was a little rust prone up here in the Michigan winters!

Good digs Stewart. One time I dug a Dairy Queen lid about 6 inches down and right below it was an old token from early Arizona. Go figure, Steve in so az
