Got out for a couple hours today. Covered a lot of ground in a short time. Was trying to a new spot in the field. Came away with a couple goodies. Could not get a date off the shield and the wheatie was a surprise. Pulled a lot of injuns out here and this is the first wheatie. Figured it was a farmer drop. Have to work it slowly once I get some time to get back up there. :)

I agree with Terry! Great site. Looks like years of hunting at a spot like that! Thanks for the pictures.

you should save all your pics from that site...who knows you might end up with 25 seated by the time youre done....man..... ill bet you find a bust there too. id be digging every whisper of a signal i got.....good luck out there!

Thanks. I did indeed pull a bust dime out of here this past spring. Not much detail left, but it was a bust and I was very tickled to find one. I was asked before to post totals this fall of what has came out so far. I 'll get that together and put it up later.

Here are the totals from this field.

Seated Quarter: 1
Seated Dime: 15
Seated Half dime: 2
Bust: 1
Barber: 1
Indians: 30
V & Shield Nickels: 10
2 Cent Piece: 5

wow...i wonder what your totals will be when you finally feel youve worked that place out. Just think, every time they plow, they might bring up more good stuff. Had to be some kind of festival or gathering repeatedly going on in that field(?). Some kind of group that always met there. looks like 1890 to 1910 or so? do you have any clues? i wonder if it was an old fairground or something.
