A nugget on the last swing.

Went out twice in the past few days. Day one scored the small bits, two species and one small crystal gold bit.
Day two spent the whole day finding almost nothing except a few small shotgun pellets. I was about to leave for home and was just 20 feet from the car. It was my last swing, my free hand was on its way to the Gain knob to shut down for the day and I got a really nice signal in some gravel clay mix. 4 inches down and out comes a bit of black looking rubbish. I thought it was some burnt metal as I had found this type of rubbish before. But the Iron probability read just 10% and it howled when run past the coil. I knocked it with the pick and presto, a nice 3 1/2 gram bit of gold. The black stuff turned out to be cemented black sands. And yeah, it was with the 5.3 coil again.

Nice stuff B.T. Is the bigger one a solid nugget with black sand stuck to it, or is it two pieces stuck to gather by the black sand. Ether way it's nice gold:clapping:

Nice nuggets. HH Dennis in Idaho

Nice, WTG B.T.

I thought it was going to be a bunch of little bits myself when I first saw the yellow. It was totally encased in the black sand cement, the whole lump being five times the size the nugget is with no gold showing. I was happy when I realised it was one piece instead of many, not that I would have minded as to me any gold is good.

Your right about that any gold is good gold, buy that makes a good size nugget. Great job B.T.

Very nice nuggets. I love the ones in the left picture. That gold really sparkles in the quarts. All gold is great. Keep up the super detecting. Thanks for sharing and HH to all, Nancy

I have found some gold with my MXT. But i have used it to find pockets of iron concentrates then dug down deep, running everything through a sluice box.Have yet to find a nugget. How small of pieces have you found with the coil you are using.:detecting:

Jog, I do the same thing when prospecting look for Iron concentrates then set up a high banker or sluice, but I have found pickers the size of a grain of rice with MXT and size of a pin head with the GMT.

Hillbilly bob.Have you ever MDed old gold mines.I have an old mine not far from here on BLM land.Have been thinking of trying the MXT on the tailing's.This is a real old mine ,i have never been to.It's a good hike up there, can't drive to it.Any input would be great,thanks.JOG.
