A Not So Scientific Test With AT Pro

RLOH

Yesterday I took my AT to my neighbors 1840 farmhouse to see what was hiding in the iron. The side yard had a large barn that burned down in 1930 something. I have taken every detector I have owned in the last ten years over this part of the yard and I have dug way too much rusty iron. I set the At up with iron disc at 30, sens one bar from max, pro mode, zero disc, and it ground balanced at 88. My test was to dig all good sounding targets and NOT check them in iron audio before I dug. I got three disticnt 65 to 68 signals and when I dug them, they turned out to be brass shotgun bases with the paper long gone. After I dug the cases, I reswept the hole with iron audio activated and every hole held an iron nail. Now I wish the targets had turned out to be Indian head pennies, but over the years I have dug hundreds of shot gun shell bases because they sound and look like an old coin. I did this type of test to learn to trust the iron audio feature. This test proved to me what I already thought- the AT Pro is the best detector I have ever used in these types of sites. In addition to the shell casings I found two wheat pennies all surrounded by rusty iron. PS, I have an Explorer 11 and it is a very deep coin hunter, but when I have hunted old sites containing rusty iron, I will dig alot of bad targets. I know that I am probably digging a rusty nail beforehand, but the signals sound too good not to dig. Will the AT outdepth the Explorer? Probably not, but it will hold it's own. Will the Explorer outhunt the AT in iron? No way! R.L.

Nice:thumbup: Yeah, that AT Pro is awesome for iron infested sites. Just incredible. Impressed the heck out o'me.:wiggle:
