A night time hunt......

Old Katz

New member
This is my third time out hunting at night. The last two night I took the Ace 250.
Tonight I took the MXT; yo can probably tell because of all the nickels.

The last two nights I picked up some broken pieces of jewelry but nothing tonight.

The Rings are hiding from me. All I found tonight were some clad, another toy car,
a cub/boy scout tie clasp and a bottle opened. Great if I drank beer; I prefer a good glass
of wine myself.

Started at 9:00pm and knocked off at 1:00am. Started to get cold out.

The park was relatively dark; only a few lights shown here and there. I was able to stay pretty much hidden
through out the hunt.I was surprised because I had expected to see a patrol car come through but none
showed up. My only light came from my Garrett Pro-pointer and a small LED light I'd shine quickly
on the control box so I could get an idea how deep the target was. The ground was really hard and no target
was past 4 inches deep; there were no dimes, which I find odd but lots of nickels.

I'm still praying that I'll find that ring!

Sure enough someone wasn't using their detector at full capacity since you found so many nickels. Our parks around here close at 10:00 or before, depending on the neighborhood. Yours stay open all night long? Nancy

I've heard of closing the bar but closing the park ? Great idea Katz, since I don't drink I'll have to try that.

>yours (park) stays open all night long?<

NOOOooooooooo. It closes at 10:00pm but people still come out and walk their dogs around the track. None last night though or
during the first two night hunts. The police patrol the park sometimes just to see if there's anything amiss, but otherwise, unless
they don't have anything else to do, they leave you alone as long as your not causing trouble. Depends on the town though. We have
one town nine miles from me where you better not even be seen carrying a metal detector, anywhere, period.

hey Katz... You gotta be kidding. There are towns that ban detecting? By the way ...nice cats. How many you got? Jack

I wish they were all mine. I get the photos from a website.
My grand daughters cat is sort of my cat since he was a kitten. The lady down the hall
from me has a huge cat I call big yellow. I'll have to scan a couple photos of them and
post them here. I let the yellow one indoors everyday and flash a laser pointer on the floor
and wall; he goes nuts trying to catch it. He's a smart cat; he knows there is some
mysterious connection between that red light and that little pointer I carry in my pocket. I really
can't take care of a cat of my own.
