A nice walk in the park nets Russian Gold !!

Pam and I braved the hot weather and headed to a nice park with lots of shade in Black Forrest. We were 2 coins shy of a 100 coin day. And that totaled up to $5.10. Yep a bunch of Penny's and a nice gold wedding band.

Here are a couple of photos of the wedding band.

The Gold wedding band revealed a surprise for me when I looked at it under a loupe.

Instead of seeing a hallmark and a karat marking I saw a Soviet Star. In the star is a hammer and sickle, to the left of the star is a small upside down "v". To the right of the star is the number 583. I found out that 583 is 14K equivalent. The hallmark on the left is a dot, the number 2 and an anchor.

This last photo is a close up of the hallmarks.

Nice find Butch. Sure wish I was detecting when we lived in C Springs, but maybe the next trip to visit our son will give me a little swinging time.
