A nice Barber and some crusty finds from morning hunt.

While Park Pirate is stuck at work I figured I better get out and dig some coins before he gets them all. Went out for a few hours this morning to a park that produced well years ago but has been hunted hard with few good targets remaining. Started out with a buffalo nickel and then a very deep V nickel. Followed that up with what appears to be a well worn V nickel and then dug a crusty 1904 Indian head cent. With 4 coins within the first 30 minutes I thought this would be a good day. Of course as soon as I thought that, things cooled down ! Dug a bunch of clad as well as dozens of beaver tails and pieces of can slaw before I finally got a deep signal that peaked my interest. Dug down a good 8 inches and the X1 probe sounded off with that sweet music you want to hear! Down another inch was a nice 1900 Barber dime. Was nice to dig one after watching Park Pirate dig a few the last couple of hunts. Funny story, as I was getting ready to take the photo of the coins, I placed the Barber dime on a sheet of paper on the railing of my deck. As I turned around to get the other coins, a gust of wind blew the paper and the dime off the railing. The last thing I heard was the dime rolling on the deck and then silence. Of course, the dime fell between the boards onto the ground below. I had to take a couple of boards off the side of the deck and get a light to see underneath. Luckily I spotted the dime after a few minutes of searching and was able to retrieve it !
