A new Sovereign version soon?

I hope Minelab will update their sovereign lineup soon. Yes the Gt as far as balance was a step up from the xs and Elite series. But I think we now need a lightweight sovereign with a pole mounted or even better a trigger all metal mode.
Anyone else agree?

Thanks in advance

Most of us want the same things you do.

A trigger switch for disc/am mode switching (like White's) would be nice.

Weight is a problem......

If you remove the coil and battery pack, the Sov is very light. This is where the weight reduction would have to be. If you want to keep it balanced, you need to take weight off both ends.

Lithium batteries? Very light, but don't know anything about performance specs for them.

External belt mounted gel cell like the gold detectors? Broken wires waiting to happen.

Still need a lot of power to run it, so can't see setting it up to run on lower voltage to use fewer batteries.

Coils? Well, you remove too much weight they will flex easily and false on contact with anything. They will also be easy to damage.
How do you make a light coil that is gorilla proof that is light but not so light that it floats if you water hunt? Make a superlight for land hunting (for those of us who are very easy on our coils), and a heavy for water (and for those who really beat them up)? Maybe.

What would be good? How would you keep it balanced?

I'm sure Minelab has considered some of this stuff.

I would like to see the tone be adjustable with a small screwdriver without opening the box.

Looks like everyone needs their own custom Sov. Minelab needs to farm this out to Dell.
